JJ Abrams Promises You Won’t Get Lost in Fringe Pilot
Written by: JohnIf you’ve ever watched any of JJ Abrams previous shows you might wonder if you’re going to be completely lost watching the Pilot episode of Fringe. JJ Abrams has committed to not confusing you:
If you’ve ever been utterly baffled by a television show that J.J. Abrams had a hand in creating — too confused to follow the serpentine plot twists of Lost or Alias or, heck, even Felicity — know that Abrams, the prolific writer, producer and director, has been annoyed, too. With you.
“I just got tired of hearing people say to me, over and over, ‘Yeah, I was watching it, but I missed one, I got really confused, and I stopped watching it,’” he said in a recent phone interview.
Considering what I’ve ready about Fringe so far I’m pretty sure you’re not going to want to miss an episode or you’ll be missing something valuable. This is just more reason for Fox to stream all the Fringe episodes online similar to how ABC streams its shows.
It was also interesting to learn how JJ Abrams came up with Fringe:
Tags: Fringe • JJ Abrams • ParamountHis newest show was born from pragmatism. In 2007 he was preparing to direct Star Trek for Paramount, but he also owed a television series to Warner Brothers, the studio that produces Fringe, and he turned to Kurtzman and Orci for help. They traded ideas about beloved fantasy films and television series –The X-Files, Altered States, the early movies of David Cronenberg — but also looked carefully at procedural crime dramas dominating the networks. “When six of the Top 10 shows are Law & Order and C.S.I.,” Orci said, “you have to be a fool not to go study what it is that they’re doing.”

Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles in J.J. Abram’s Fringe
Written by: Pete
Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA
Studied composition at Eastman School Of Music, Rochester, and acting at the Yale Drama School.
Fun Facts
Was in 60 episodes of HBO’s “The Wire” from 2002-2008 playing Lt. Cedric Daniels
“The Wire” has had 7 award wins & 26 nominations
In my opinion he can play creepy as in “LOST” he can play tough as in “The Wire” and he can play MEAN as on Fringe. Take my advice… Don’t make this guy mad!

Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham in J.J. Abram’s Fringe
Written by: PeteBorn in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
She graduated from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) with a degree in Performing Arts (Acting) in 2001.
Has done Motion Capture for PlayStation 3 game Heavenly Sword at WETA Digital in Wellington, New Zealand. Plays ‘Nariko’ in the game. (March 2007)
J.J. Abram’s knew he wanted her for the part from the moment he saw an audition tape from her agent. (The tape was her trying out from something else and not a Olivia on Fringe.)
TV’s dying for another kick-ass female action star, and Torv might just fill the void as Olivia Dunham, an FBI agent investigating a string of strange phenomena. Plus she’s got J.J. Abrams on her side. In the name of Jennifer Garner and Evangeline Lilly, how can she not break out?

Secret Fringe Details
Written by: PeteFringe will air 55 full minutes of content and only 5 minutes of commercials, as opposed to the usual 43 minutes of content format used by other hour-long series. This is part of FOX’s new strategy to bring more viewers to the show.
Runtime:82 min (pre-release version) Let’s hope FOX air’s the 82 min. version with limited commercial breaks.
DC Comics will be releasing a prequel comic book on August 27, two weeks before the series premiere on September 9.
The budget for the show’s “Pilot” episode was $10 million. (Not sure why people keep saying $11 million. I’ve learned from a few good sources that it was $10 million.)
Filming location for Fringe: Toronto, Ontario, Canada and New York City, New York, USA.
J.J. Abrams said he trusts Jeff Pinkner after working with him on both Alias and Lost shows.
